Why a small environment matters for little ones
Our small converted-house centre offers a cosy, homelike setting rather than an institutional feel. Low ratios and a primary caregiving philosophy give each baby a consistent, trusted person who learns their cues, routines and ways of communicating.
Familiar relationships
A primary caregiver builds a close partnership with your whānau and stays attuned to your child’s needs. At least 80% of our teaching staff are qualified, supported by experienced ECE educators who bring warmth and skill to the team.
An unhurried, child-led day
Days follow your child’s lead. Play, care and rest are calm and unhurried, with family-provided lunchboxes helping us maintain familiar foods, preferences and culture from home.

Gentle settling at Little Geckos
We provide up to three free visits to ensure a gentle start. Families are encouraged to take all the time they need to feel comfortable and really get to know our centre.
Complimentary settling visits
Staying close to your child
We recommend up to three free settling visits to help your child bond with our teachers. These no-charge sessions ensure a smooth, comfortable transition into our nurturing environment.
Our boutique setting allows teachers to maintain a close presence with your child. This intimacy ensures we provide regular updates to parents, keeping you connected to their day.
Moving on when they are ready
Play, care and rest in balance
When your child is developmentally ready, we work with your whānau and the Big Geckos team to plan a calm, gradual transition. The timing is based on your child’s confidence and individual needs—not simply their age.
Life here flows naturally between active play, gentle care, and quiet rest. We provide a peaceful setting where your child can explore safely and sleep soundly whenever they need.
